The waters of life are a timeless symbol of the desire for the spiritual source and nourishment of our being. Having reconnected with the source of the soul’s life, we live in awareness of its gifts coming through us, and we realize a healing and a renewed purpose.
This retreat will focus on attunements and meditation practices working with breath, Divine Names and Zikr, cultivating our awareness of the waters of life.
Naima Brown teaches online internationally offering Meditation Classes and Retreats. She guides both group and individual retreats and is a mentor for the pioneering Sophic Whorl Retreat guide training. She took many retreats with Pir Vilayat and with Pir Zia and has been a lifelong student of Inayatiyya Sufism. She served as Vice President of the Inayatiyya Inner School and was a founding mentor for Suluk Academy (a school of spiritual study) which she taught for many years. She is a Leaders training mentor and advisor for those dedicated and inspired to teach and is a Center leader in the Boston area.
Aqil Brown is a Representative in the Inayatiyya Inner School and one of the Inayatiyya of Greater Boston center leaders for many years. Currently he is guiding an online class on the Githa papers of Hazrat Inayat Khan as well as offering basic meditation classes in person in his local community. He has participated in the Inayatiyya as an Inner School Retreat Guide, Inner School leaders training advisor and mentor, Suluk Gulzar student, Ziraat Farmer and Universal Worship Cherag. Outside of the Inayatiyya, he has been a researcher in biological systems sciences, a software creator and architect, and an avid gardener. Attending together in the moment, and the inspiration and magic that comes from that, is one of his favorite things.
